Dr Morchower’s approach:

Dr Morchower takes a unique approach to pain management as his background includes both the physical medicine and interventional pain management training. As a result of his experience, he is able to communicate with your Physical Therapist, Chiropractor or Spine surgeon/Neurosurgeon if needed to direct your care. Many patients refer to him as “the conductor” of their pain care. You will find that our approach at OmniSpine Pain Management is different in that we rely on both the physical exam and patient’s history, as well as the MRI to determine your best course of care. We DO NOT just look at an MRI to determine what you need. Many times an MRI does not tell the full story and Dr. Morchower takes pride in tailoring your care to effectively provide the pain relief that you deserve.

It is well known that the vast majority of people with moderate or ever severe back pain Do not require surgery! According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, it’s estimated that as little as 5% of people with back or neck pain need to have surgery (https://consumer.healthday.com/encyclopedia/back-care-6/backache-news-53/back-surgery-645795.html). Dr Morchower has the training to perform interventional procedures that eliminate or significantly reduce pain coming from the neck or low back. Although he does not perform spine surgery, he has trained with spine surgeons and is able to identify the small group of people that require or may benefit from a spine surgery. He will be able to communicate with your spine surgeon to ensure that you are receiving the best care possible.

At OmniSpine we practice medicine to what we believe is a higher standard of care. All patients will be seen by a physician. The doctor will perform a physical exam and speak with you about all your options for treatment of your pain.
